Nagel lab: I have been conscious that climate change is a significant threat to our world since I was young. Through my education and experience, I developed molecular biology tools that led me to wonder how we can manipulate climate resiliency in our crops. My graduate research focuses on how model and crop plants respond to heat in a time-of-day dependent manner. While this is fundamental research, I am interested in exploring its implications in designing heat-resistant crops through the Plants3D program. The Plants3D program will also allow me to practice better communicating my science and strengthen my ability to work on interdisciplinary teams.
